Macarons are sweet meringue-based confection made with egg white, sugar, icing sugar and ground almond; filled with ganache, buttercream or fruit jam.

If you have made macarons before, you will know they are one of the most finicky and frustrating things to make. But when they turn out nicely, with a nice sheen, smooth top and pied/feet, it can be very rewarding.
They are a wide variety of colours and flavors.They are fun to add to party food spread and are great as gifts.


I love macarons, aesthetically.
